The Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre-Caribbean (MTCC Caribbean) is pleased to launch three new publications documenting and reflecting on the work it has undertaken under the ambit of the Global MTCC Network (GMN) project during the period January 2017 – December 2020. As you may recall, the GMN project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) was awarded the contract to host the MTCC Caribbean in December 2016 following an international competitive bidding process targeting host institutions for the creation of 5 MTCCs across the world. UTT emerged as the winner for hosting the MTCC for the Caribbean. Through the work of MTCC Caribbean, the Caribbean region has benefitted from several capacity building activities, pilot projects, webinars and online training courses. These publications are meant to capture the reflections of the MTCC on the implementation of the project as well as the feedback from stakeholders and the next steps in decarbonizing maritime operations.
